ELSA LANCHESTER?

Elsa LancasterELSA LANCHESTER (1902-1986), born Elizabeth Lanchester Sullivan

The first time I was ever exposed to Elsa Lanchester, she was cast as the bride of Frankenstein. My mother said, "Oh, look it's Elsa Lanchester." I had no idea who she was back then, but I soon learned after seeing this character actress in all kinds of family films. Elsa Lanchester was also a revue comedienne and singer. She was often cast in eccentric parts. She's very good at all she does.

Mary Poppins (1964)

Haven't you seen Mary Poppins (1964)? She was Katie Nana.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

The Bishop's Wife (1947) She was the mother's helper, Matilda.
Bell, Book, and Candle (1958) She was Queenie.
Come to the Stable (1949) She was Miss Potts and this has to be my favorite of her performances.
Murder By Death (1976) This is a fun spoof film on classic murder mysteries. Elsa Lanchester was cast as Jessica Marbles.
