Katie Connolly's CLEAN, CLEVER, INTELLIGENT AND WITTY COMEDY

What types of films would I like to see made today?

More Clean, Clever, Intelligent, and Witty Comedy

To grasp this concept, watch more movies like:

His Girl Friday (1940)
His Girl Friday (1940)

This was a really intelligent and enjoyable comedy with Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. The humor is extremely sophisticated and elegant, with plenty of inside jokes that classic movie fans can enjoy. The dialogue moves so fast that one has to pay attention as to not miss anything. This film manages to be very entertaining without resorting to crude or sophomoric humor. The humor here comes from the character's personalities, witty remarks, and various mix-ups.

I also recommend the following films:
  • The Philadelphia Story (1940)
  • The Awful Truth (1937)
  • Bringing Up Baby (1938)
  • To Be or Not To Be (1942)
  • My Man Godfrey (1936)
  • Woman of the Year (1942)
  • Adam's Rib (1949)
  • You Can't Take it With You (1938)
  • Hail the Conquering Hero (1944)
