Charles Middleton
Grim-faced character actor known for his villainous roles, Charles Middleton (1874-1949) played circuses, carnivals, Vaudeville and theatre before entering the movies in 1928.

Flash Gordon (1936)
Haven't you seen Flash Gordon (1936)? Middleton became one of the great film villains portraying Ming the Merciless in this serial and in Flash Gordon's Trip To Mars (1938) and Flash Gordon Conquers The Universe (1940).

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Flying Deuces (1939) Laurel and Hardy join the Foreign Legion and Middleton is their commander.
Duck Soup (1933) Middleton takes part in the Marx madness and even gets to sing.
Showboat (1936) Middleton portrays a county sheriff.
The Fixer Uppers (1935) An artist's neglected wife asks Laurel and Hardy to make her husband, played by Middleton, jealous. Much to their regret they succeed. A very funny film.
