Don't Know...JACK P. PIERCE?

Jack P. Pierce

You really should know who JACK P. PIERCE (1889-1968) is! Jack P. Pierce was the genius responsible for the great creature make-up at Universal Studios.

The Wolf Man (1941) Poster

A fine place to start is by viewing: The Wolf Man (1941). Pierce created the effective make-up for Lon Chaney, Jr.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Frankenstein (1931) Probably Pierce's most famous creation. This is still the image most people have of Frankenstein's monster despite many attempts to outdo Pierce's design.

The Mummy (1932) Another great creation.

Bride of Frankenstein (1935) Pierce's design for the monster's bride was inspired.
Cobra Woman (1944) In a pleasant change of pace, Pierce got to work with the lovely Maria Montez.
