Joe Besser

JOE BESSER (1907-1988), born Joseph Besser, had a long career in films and television. For a time he was a member of the Three Stooges. In his later years he did voice work in cartoons.

Haven't you seen The Desert Hawk (1950)? Joe plays Prince Sinbad in this sword and sandals vehicle for Yvonne De Carlo. He is teamed with Jackie Gleason as Aladdin.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Africa Screams (1949) Joe has a good supporting role in this Abbott and Costello vehicle.
Feudin', Fussin' and A-Fightin' (1948) A good Donald O'Connor sort-of musical.
Say One For Me (1959) Bing Crosby as a priest yet again.
The Abbott and Costello Show (1952) Besser shines as Stinky Davis, an overgrown, sailor-suited, neighborhood brat. His scenes are some of the best in this series.
