SHIRLEY JONES?

Shirley Jones

SHIRLEY JONES (1934-Present), born Shirley Mae Jones, is beautiful, sings remarkably well, dances well, and can act. I first saw her in Oklahoma! and then had to see her other films. I have never seen her give a bad performance.

The Music Man (1962)Haven't you seen The Music Man (1962)? This is my favorite of Shirley Jones' films. Robert Preston and Shirley Jones made a wonderful team. Look for a very young Ron Howard.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Oklahoma! (1955) Here Shirley co-stars with Gordon MacRae. I've watched this film over and over. It's a wonderful Rodgers and Hammerstein musical.
The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1963) This film with Glenn Ford inspired the Bill Bixby TV show.
Carousel (1956) This is another wonderful Rodgers and Hammerstein musical with Gordon MacRae.
Elmer Gantry (1960) This was the role that shocked the director. No one thought sweet Shirley Jones could pull off this part. She did and so well that she won the Oscar that year for Best Supporting Actress.
