Alfred Hitchcock

You really should know who SIR ALFRED HITCHCOCK (1899-1980) is! Sir Alfred Hitchcock, born Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, was a producer, director and performer. Movie buffs well acquainted with his talents enjoy looking for his cameo appearances in each of his productions.

North by Northwest (1959) PosterA fine place to start is by viewing: North by Northwest (1959). It is a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, being accused of a murder one hasn't committed and a case of being mistaken for someone no one can find. Cary Grant plays an ordinary citizen, Roger Thornton, who must prove he isn't the man the spies want and isn't the murderer the police and CIA want. Alfred Hitchcock produced, directed and appears in this film. It is one of Grant's finest performances.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

1 Comments:

  • A great film, except for the limp ending. Things to relish: James Mason (overwhelming menace), Eva Marie Saint (overwhelming beauty)*, and the aeroplane man hunt in the middle of a vast scrubby waste.

    * male viewpoint
