DON DEFORE?

Don De ForeDON DEFORE (1913–1993), born Donald John DeFore first came to my attention in his classic television role, George Baxter, in the sitcom "Hazel" (1961-1965). He was also a regular on the classic television sitcom, "The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet" (1952-1956). Like many other classic television actors, Don DeFore was not a newcomer to acting. He had both a successful film career and one on the stage. In most films, he plays very likeable guys, often the hero's best friend.

It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947)Haven't you seen It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947)? This film I didn't discover until I had grown children and purchased a set of Christmas films. It became my favorite Don DeFore film. He plays Jim Bullock.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Romance on the High Seas (1948) This romantic comedy is one of my favorite Doris Day films. Here Don DeFore plays Mr. Michael Kent.
Without Reservations (1946) In this John Wayne and Claudette Colbert film, he plays 1st Lt. Dink Watson.
Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944) In this World War II picture with Spencer Tracy, Van Johnson, and Robert Walker, Don DeFore plays Charles McClure - Crew of the Ruptured Duck.
My Friend Irma (1949) In this Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis film, he plays Richard Rhinelander III.
