GORDON MACRAE?

Gordon MacRae

GORDON MACRAE (1921-1986), born Albert Gordon MacRae
Gordon MacRae was a visually appealing guy with a splendid singing voice who was the prototype of the operetta/musical-comedy movie hero.

Oklahoma! (1955)
Haven't you seen Oklahoma! (1955)? This is probably his most well known film and considered a classic musical.

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Desert Song (1953)
On Moonlight Bay(1951)
Tea for Two (1950)
Carousel (1956)

  • Gordon MacRae was my very favorite singer/actor. On Moonlight Bay and By the Light of the Silvery Moon were both produced with Doris Day as "his girl". I have loved these two movies for a few decades.
His partner was changed to Shirley Jones for both Oklahoma and Carousel. Shirley was a winner, too.
