The Bridge Over the River Kwai (1957)Haven't you seen The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)? It's the greatest war film ever made!

Watch this and then see these other four films.

Lawrence of Arabia (1962) His portrayal of Prince Feisal is stunning.

  • Thanks for this. Also see Alec's Ealing Studios comedies - The Man in the White Suit, The Prisoner (also known as Der Gefangene-The Cardinal) and The Horse's Mouth. http://www.britmovie.co.uk/studios/Ealing-Studios/

  • His Ealing comedies were "Kind Hearts and Coronets", "The Card", "The Lavender Hill Mob", "The Man in the White Suit", "Barnacle Bill", and "The Captain's Paradise". "The Prisoner" is a very serious film indeed, and "The Horse's Mouth" is a character study.
