I actually saw every Jane Powell movie first-run in the 40's & 50's. It's kind of fun to visit them again through videos and DVDs.






Haven't you seen Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954)? This is my all-time favorite musical.


Watch this and then see these other four films.


Royal Wedding (1951) This film has the famous scene where Fred Astaire dances on the ceiling. Fred and Jane play brother and sister, Tom and Ellen Bowen.
Three Daring Daughters (1948) Jane plays Tess Morgan, one of the three daughters of Louise Rayton Morgan, played by Jeanette MacDonald.
Three Sailors and a Girl (1953) Jane plays Penny Weston. Gordon MacRae and Gene Nelson also star.
Small Town Girl (1953) Jane plays Cindy Kimbell. Look for an appearance of Nat "King" Cole as himself.
