The Awful Truth (1937)BIRTHDAY: September 27, 1962

WRITTEN LANGUAGES: English

WEB SITE: Donna's Page

INTERESTS: All 72 Cary Grant films, lobby cards, vintage magazines, Screwball Comedies, books

MOVIE MEMORABILIA: Movies; Reading (Jane Austen is my favourite author. But my favourite type of book is mystery fiction. Mostly cosies rather than hard-boiled thrillers); Music; Dancing (Ceroc: a form of dance like jive in some ways, but you can do it to modern music, and not just to 50's stuff. I met my John at a Ceroc class); and Competitions (I enjoy doing competitions - postal, internet etc. I have won a couple of things - including a trip to London to the theatre, quite a few books, and a set of expensive saucepans :o) I'm still waiting for the house, car and holiday!!!)

The Thin Man (1934)FAVORITE MOVIES: The Bishop's Wife (1947), The Awful Truth (1937), Theodora Goes Wild (1936), The Thin Man (1934), Arsenic and Old Lace (1944), Libeled Lady (1936), My Man Godfrey (1936), Born Yesterday (1950), Nothing Sacred (1937), Easy Living (1937), The More The Merrier (1943), The Major and The Minor (1942) ....

FAVORITE ACTORS/ACTRESSES: Cary Grant, Irene Dunne, Myrna Loy, William Powell, Bette Davis, Jean Arthur, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Carole Lombard ....

TESTIMONY: Well, I think it was all My Man Godfrey (1936)started by my mum, I always used to sit and watch old movies with her on our little black and white television. We would sit there with a box of paper hankies beside us, and some sweets to dip into and spend an afternoon enthralled. My main passion is the sophisticated screwball comedies of the 30s and 40s - the glamour and the fun. I love to sit on a wet Sunday afternoon and watch a great old movie that makes me chuckle.
